  • Fungal infections (e.g., ringworm).

2. Severe Acne or Active Breakouts
  • Skin with open wounds or inflamed cystic acne may become irritated during the facial.

  • Check for allergies to specific products or ingredients used in hydrating facials (e.g., essential oils, fragrances, or active agents).
4. Recent Skin Treatments
  • Recent chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or laser treatments may make the skin too sensitive for a hydrating facial.

  • Irritated or sunburned skin may react negatively to facial products, even gentle ones.
6. Skin Conditions
  • Conditions like rosacea, eczema, or psoriasis may require caution, as certain products can trigger flare-ups.

  • Skin with cuts, abrasions, or healing wounds should not undergo treatments that involve massaging or applying products.
8. Recent Cosmetic Procedures
  • Botox or fillers: Avoid facials for at least 24–48 hours after injectables to prevent complications or migration of the fillers.

  • While most hydrating facials are pregnancy-safe, some ingredients (e.g., retinoids, salicylic acid) should be avoided during pregnancy.
10. Medical Conditions or Medications
  • Individuals on certain medications (e.g., isotretinoin/Accutane) or undergoing cancer treatments should consult a doctor before any facial treatment.
