Microblading
What is it?
Microblading is a semi-permanent eyebrow enhancement technique where natural-looking, hair-like strokes are created using a fine blade and pigment. The process fills in sparse areas, shaping and defining brows to match your desired style. The results typically last 1-3 years, depending on skin type and aftercare, offering a low-maintenance solution to perfect brows every day.
Benefits
- Natural-Looking Results: The fine, hair-like strokes mimic the look of real eyebrow hairs, giving a realistic and fuller appearance.
- Time-Saving: With microblading, you won’t need to spend time filling in your brows daily. It cuts down on makeup routines and keeps brows looking perfect 24/7.
- Long-Lasting: Results can last from 1 to 3 years, depending on factors like skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare, providing long-term value.
- Customizable Shape and Color: Microblading is tailored to your face shape, hair color, and personal preference, ensuring the brows complement your features.
- Waterproof & Smudge-Proof: Once healed, microbladed brows remain intact through sweat, rain, and daily activities.
- Boosts Confidence: Well-shaped brows can enhance your facial features, giving you a more polished and confident look.
- Ideal for Sparse or Over-Plucked Brows: If you have thinning or over-plucked brows, microblading can help restore and reshape them to look fuller and more natural.
Who is it for?
Microblading is ideal for anyone looking to enhance or reshape their eyebrows, but it’s especially beneficial for:
People with Sparse or Thin Brows: If you have naturally sparse or thinning eyebrows, microblading helps create the appearance of fuller, more defined brows.
Over-Plucked or Shaped Brows: If you’ve over-plucked or shaped your brows in the past and they haven’t fully grown back, microblading can restore a more natural and balanced shape.
Those with Alopecia or Hair Loss: Microblading can provide a solution for people experiencing hair loss, such as from alopecia or chemotherapy, giving them back the look of natural brows.
People Who Want Low-Maintenance Brows: If you’re tired of filling in your brows every morning or want to save time on your beauty routine, microblading provides a long-lasting, hassle-free alternative.
Anyone Looking for a More Defined Brow Shape: If you want a more polished, symmetrical look for your eyebrows, microblading allows for precision in shaping.
Active Individuals or Swimmers: For those who lead active lifestyles or swim regularly, microblading offers waterproof, smudge-proof brows that stay in place all day long.
However, it’s not recommended for people with certain skin conditions or sensitivities, such as eczema or psoriasis around the eyebrow area, or those who are pregnant or nursing. Always consult with a certified professional before getting the treatment to ensure it’s right for you!
Contraindications
There are several contraindications to consider before getting microblading to ensure safety and the best results. These include:
Pregnancy or Breastfeeding: Hormonal changes during pregnancy or breastfeeding can affect the healing process and pigment retention, making microblading not recommended for expectant or nursing mothers.
Skin Conditions or Irritations: If you have active skin conditions near the eyebrow area, like eczema, psoriasis, or dermatitis, it can interfere with the healing process or lead to infections.
Allergic Reactions: People who are allergic to certain pigments or numbing agents should avoid microblading to prevent adverse reactions.
Blood Disorders or Blood Thinners: Conditions like hemophilia, or taking blood-thinning medications (like aspirin, warfarin, or certain supplements), may increase the risk of bleeding during the procedure and affect healing.
Diabetes: People with uncontrolled diabetes may experience slower healing and higher risk of infection, so it’s important to consult with a doctor beforehand.
Recent Botox or Dermal Filler Treatments: If you’ve recently had Botox or fillers around the brow area, it’s best to wait until they’ve fully settled (usually 2–4 weeks) before getting microblading.
Sunburn or Tanning: If you have sunburn or tan lines in the eyebrow area, it’s better to wait until the skin is fully healed before undergoing microblading.
Active Infections or Cold Sores: If you have an active infection, cold sores, or any open wounds on or around the eyebrow area, the procedure should be postponed until healed.
Rosacea or Sensitive Skin: If you have rosacea or extremely sensitive skin in the eyebrow region, the healing process might be more difficult, so consult with a professional beforehand.
Pregnancy or Blood Disorders: As mentioned, pregnancy and blood disorders are significant contraindications because they may increase risk of complications, bleeding, and poor healing.
Always consult with us and a healthcare provider to determine whether the procedure is right for you!

Aftercare
Proper aftercare is essential to ensure your microbladed brows heal well and maintain their shape and color. Here’s a detailed guide to follow after your microblading session:
First 24-48 Hours:
- Avoid Touching: Do not touch, rub, or pick at your eyebrows to prevent infection and pigment loss.
- Keep It Dry: Avoid getting your brows wet for the first 24 hours (this includes avoiding steam, hot showers, and swimming).
- Avoid Makeup: Do not apply makeup on or around the eyebrow area until fully healed.
First Week (Days 1–7):
- Cleaning: Gently clean your brows using a mild, fragrance-free cleanser with lukewarm water and a clean cotton pad or gauze. Pat the area dry, do not rub.
- Moisturize: Apply a thin layer of the recommended aftercare ointment or healing balm (provided by your technician) to keep the area hydrated. Only use the ointment for the first 7-10 days or as advised by your artist.
- No Water or Sweat: Avoid getting your brows wet during the first 7 days, including when washing your face. Avoid intense exercise or sweating.
- Avoid Sun Exposure: Stay out of direct sunlight and avoid tanning beds during the healing process. If you must go out, wear a hat or sunscreen on the surrounding area.
- No Picking or Scratching: It’s normal for your brows to scab or flake. Let them fall off naturally. Picking at the scabs can cause scarring and pigment loss.
Weeks 2-4 (Healing Process):
- Avoid Makeup on Brows: Refrain from using any makeup on or around the brows until they are completely healed (around 4 weeks).
- No Scrubbing: Continue avoiding scrubbing or rubbing the area when cleansing your face.
- Moisturize: You may continue moisturizing with the aftercare product recommended by your artist, but stop using it once the skin is fully healed (usually after about 10 days).
Ongoing Care (After Healing):
- Sunscreen: Once healed, always apply sunscreen to your brows when exposed to the sun to prevent fading from UV rays.
- Avoid Harsh Skincare: Avoid using exfoliants, retinols, or acids near your brows to prevent premature fading.
- Touch-Up: Most people need a touch-up session 6-8 weeks after the initial microblading to perfect the shape and color. It’s important to follow the aftercare instructions for the best results.
Key Notes:
- Healing Time: Full healing takes around 4–6 weeks. After that, you can enjoy low-maintenance, beautiful brows!
- Infection Prevention: Always follow your artist’s specific aftercare instructions, and avoid any actions that could introduce bacteria (e.g., sleeping face-down or using dirty towels on your face).
By following these aftercare tips, you’ll help ensure the best possible healing and results for your microbladed brows!
